Australia does an amazing job with public service campaigns, putting lots of explicit and poignant ads on TV that run through prime time slots. There's a particular ad campaign about alcohol and cancer risk that shows a gruesome depiction of the body. But they don't just have fear ads--they have plenty that try to give useful advice on things like health and energy consumption. One of the most recent health campaigns is called "Swap It, Don't Stop It." Their main recommendations center around a couple catch phrases: "Swap Big for Small", "Swap Often for Sometimes," "Swap Sitting for Moving," and "Swap Watching for Playing." And then at the top of the website, their tip of the day was to stop looking at their website and go outside for a walk.
One of the best parts is their suggestions of foods to swap, with a very extensive set of lists based on food groups. There's nothing mind-blowing, but this is how I'd suggest using it: once a week/month/what have you, go through the list and pick out one of the swaps you can make to make a small improvement to your diet. They also give activity suggestions too.
In the same vein, I'll make my own suggestion of a way to incorporate more activity into your life: next time you have a business meeting with only 1-3 other people, try to convince them to conduct the meeting whilst walking around the block.
