Case studies part 1: Multiple Myeloma and lat dorsi reconstruction

Well, I've been quite the slacker online. I'm going to start a new segment of case studies, where I present new patients that I'm working with (omitting all identifying info of course), what my treatments for them are, and progress updates on how it's working.

Case Study A) 75 year old female, smoked for 30 years, has multiple myeloma, and recently finished a round of chemotherapy. When I first talked to her on the phone, she was complaining of pain caused by sciatica in her right hamstrings and knee. Saw me for the first time today.

Case Study B) 34 year old female, obese, had early stage but aggressive breast cancer, and positive for the BRCA1 gene. After chemo and radio, had a double mastectomy (surgery usually comes first) with latisimus dorsi breast reconstruction (so her back muscles are now her chest). Finished her treatments about 6 weeks ago, and has been working with me for 2 weeks.

In my next post, I'll give a VERY small literature review pertinent to these two cases, and then I'll give posts with updates on these cases and the work I'm doing.
