Diet Myths

Ugh. First day researching "feeling full" completely wasted. I admittedly made the poor research choice of starting with a Google search rather than a research database search. The first thing I found looked like it would be good, but turned out to be a blog. And it said things that were questionable, if not down right wrong. The blog's author strongly advocated a no-carbohydrate diet, and blamed carbohydrates for being an empty vacuum of calories that engorged our feelings of hunger rather than ever satisfying them.

First of all, anything that tries to deal in only absolutes is wrong. It would be nice if things were simply one way or the other (especially in terms of health--that would make everything easier), but that never happens. There are always exceptions, anomalies, and individual-non-responder-cases.

Bottom line, before I waste any more of my time contemplating this guy: giving up carbs is not going to magically make you skinny.
