The purpose of this blog is to improve the quality of life of cancer survivors. This blog hopes to accomplish this goal by publicizing new research on quality of life for cancer survivors and identify programs and strategies that may help cancer survivors accomplish their goals.

Intensity vs Volume of exercise

Here's another great small thing from Maeda et al (2005), which plays right into the whole point of my PhD research.

They found significant correlations between basal metabolic rate and intensity of weekly physical activity, but no significant correlation between basal metabolic rate and volume of weekly physical activity. This is more evidence to support that it's better to be short and sharp than long and drawn out. The tortoise does not win the health race.
