NEW test for personalized cancer treatment

I'm sorry for the awful title, but I couldn't think of a succinct way to describe what I want to talk about. I just read an article on the Johns Hopkins website. They've developed a new blood test that can look at a person's genetic sequence and give them very accurate information about their cancer so they can develop the perfect treatment. Also, after treatment, repeating this blood test will let them know if they've truly destroyed all the cancer, or if it ever recurs. For now, it seems like this test is only helpful once you've had a cancer diagnosis, but it sounds like they're working to make it screen people for cancer. It also sounds like, if they're successful, they'll be able to genetically detect cancer by a simple blood draw before it becomes a proper tumor, and remove it before it ever becomes a problem. It's not exactly a cure, but it's still a MASSIVE step forward.

In related news, the Johns Hopkins website is quickly becoming my best friend.
