The YWCA is an organization that promotes women's rights, health, and support. They are an international organization. Due to my current residence and home (and therefore who I assume my readership will be), I'll concentrate on Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and USA.
In Australia, the YWCA Encore Program is a FREE 8 week hydrotherapy program for breast cancer survivors. They have programs in all states and territories except Tasmania.
In New Zealand, they have programs in Auckland and Wellington.
In the USA, I could only find one YWCA Encore Program, in Greenwhich, CT, and it seems up to date (note--the first link is to the Greenwhich YWCA, and the second is to an article about it). Any YWCA nationwide that has a pool will undoubtedly provide hydrotherapy sessions, though it's not guaranteed they will specifically be for breast cancer. To locate the YWCA near you, click here.
Same thing for Canada, where you just have to locate the individual YWCAs and see if they've got a pool.
I can only comment on the YWCA Encore Program at Shenton Park in the Perth metro area. It's very gentle, and would be good for women suffering great fatigue who dread the thought of "joining a gym." It's idea is just to return women to function through gentle movement in water, which is usually a comforting feeling anyway. Their pool is kept nice and warm, as it's meant specifically for hydrotherapy (as opposed to a lap pool at a community center).
One possible side effect of breast cancer treatment is arm lympheadema. Some research has indicated that submerging an affected limb in warm water may increase swelling, however I've had women get into our hydrotherapy pool here and not have any problems with it. Any women considering hydro should just ask their specialist about it before hand to double check.
