The purpose of this blog is to improve the quality of life of cancer survivors. This blog hopes to accomplish this goal by publicizing new research on quality of life for cancer survivors and identify programs and strategies that may help cancer survivors accomplish their goals.

UNC recognized for work in breast cancer

"UNC's Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center has been designated a Research-tested Intervention Program by the National Cancer Institute" report's UNC's own media site. The main program that earned the Lineberger hospital this recognition was a program to provide screening to African American women living in eastern rural North Carolina. Earlier detection is possibly the biggest predictor of treatment success, so providing this access would be a huge step in helping women throughout the state.
