2 Warnings

Last year I went to the Clinical Oncological Society of Australia's annual conference in Melbourne. I was digging through my possessions and found my notes from that conference, and just wanted to pass on 2 quick points that came out of some of the big name speakers.

#1: one of the worst speakers I've ever heard presented a decade's worth of work, including 10s of thousands of women studied, and the final message of his ramblings was this: do not do menopausal hormone therapy or you will get cancer.

#2: leptin from white adipose tissue leads to accelerated tumor growth. So even once you do have cancer, there is still great incentive to lose FAT (not weight necessarily---FAT) immediately.

Sorry, I don't try to do fear mongering on this blog, but I do remember these 2 points be hammered home very hard by the speakers at the conference, and it might not be something everybody knows.
