It's not a new drug, but it's use in ovarian cancer patients apparently is. From the Perth Sunday Times newspaper, June 12, 2011:
"A drug has been hailed as the biggest breakthrough in 20 years of ovarian cancer research after trials showed it could increase a patient's life expectancy by up to 8 months. British researchers found Avastin, used to treat breast and bowel cancer, was also effective against ovarian cancer. The only treatment so far is chemotherapy after surgery."
