Treadmill VS bike

I found a neat little study, and was kind of bummed to find it, as I had hoped to basically do this same thing myself.

They tested 12 breast cancer survivors for VO2 peak (that's a maximum fitness test) on both a bicycle and a treadmill. In either test, you basically start slow and work harder and harder and harder until you can't keep going, hence getting to your maximum. I currently use a VO2peak test using a bicycle.

They found that they treadmill elicited a significantly higher (p=0.003) VO2peak than the bike, by about 5ml/kg/min. This result is very obvious, and anybody that knows a decent amount about exercise physiology could have told you that without much thinking, but this is actually the first study to prove it, so it's still cool.
