Review: The China Study

Alright, I've been hinting at reviewing the China Study by Dr. Cambell for quite a while, and have made some comments here and there. Additionally, the next several posts will be excerpts and different ideas from that book, but here I thought I'd just give the quick and dirty review of it as a whole.

This book is like having a hippie bludgeon you over the head with a giant zucchini a dozen times until it breaks, then stabbing you with carrots until they shatter in your ribs, then tenderizing your back, thighs, and stomach by dropping pumpkins on you, and lastly mummifying your remains in spinach and kale.

In short, he's only got one point, and wrote a several hundred page book to drive it home.

His point is: don't eat any animal products, instead only eat a vegetarian diet, and your health will be perfect. Eat animal products (this includes dairy, which he highlights over and over again), and you are doomed to suffer all pestilence.

Now, I realize I've just casted his book in a harsh light. I'm not trying to say the information isn't good or valid; all I'm saying is, as a piece of literature, it's redundant and pretty boring. So in the next several posts, I will exhume all the interesting bits so you don't have to waste your time reading the whole thing.
