The purpose of this blog is to improve the quality of life of cancer survivors. This blog hopes to accomplish this goal by publicizing new research on quality of life for cancer survivors and identify programs and strategies that may help cancer survivors accomplish their goals.

Olympic lifting in prostate cancer 2

Here are the workouts I did when teaching Olympic lifting. Only 6 days and I achieved what I wanted to. It was awesome.

Day 1
  1. deadlift w/ broomstick
  2. snatch grip upright rows w/ broomstick
  3. squat jumps
  4. go over wide stance
  5. deadlift to upright rows w/ broomstick
  6. stretching hip flexors
Day 2
  1. stretching hip flexors, adductors, spine, glutes
  2. holding bar and deep squats as active stretch
  3. deadlift w/ broomstick
  4. upright row w/ broomstick
  5. deadlift to row w/ broomstick
  6. squat jumps
  7. squat jumps 3@15kg
  8. box deadlfts 5@15 kg
  9. deadlifts 5 @ 15kg w/ camera review
  10. upright rows 5@15kg
  11. stretching
Day 3
  1. broomstick across shoulders; trunk rotation to warm up
  2. broomstick across shoulders; good mornings to stretch
  3. deep squats holding bar 10
  4. stretch hip flexors and adductors
  5. deadlift to upright row w/ broomstick 2x6
  6. deadlift to upright row 2x4@15kg
  7. squat jumps 2x5
  8. squat jumps 2x5@15kg
  9. power shrug 3x3@15 kg w/ camera review
  10. hang clean w/ broomstick 5
  11. hang clean 4@15kg w/ camera review
Day 4
  1. broomstick twist and good mornings to warm up and stretch
  2. holding bar deep sqauts
  3. stretch hip flexors
  4. squat jumps 2x5
  5. squat jumps 2x3@15 kg
  6. power shrug 2x5@15kg
  7. hang clean 3@15kg
  8. deadlift 2x3@35kg
  9. hang clean 2x3@25 kg
Day 5
  1. twist and good mornings
  2. deep squats holding bar
  3. stretch
  4. hang clean 5@15kg
  5. hang clean with box jump 3@15 kg
  6. hang clean @ 20 kg
  7. hang clean @ 25 kg
  8. power clean 3x1@35kg
Day 6
  1. twist and good mornings
  2. deep squats holding bar
  3. stretch
  4. hang clean with box jump 3@15 kg
  5. hang clean 5@ 25 kg
  6. power clean 3@35 kg
  7. hang clean to push press 2x3@25 kg
