Now, I have to start this with a disclaimer that I do not, at the moment of this posting, believe there is any correlation between certain foods and cancer risk, either of initial diagnosis or recurrence. Now, obviously, your general diet may be a risk factor, as a poor diet can lead to obesity and diabetes, which can contribute to cancer risk if, by nothing else, decreasing your immune function. But there's no magic food (yet) that either gives you cancer or saves you from cancer. If research is ever done that makes this link, I will be sure to publicize it like crazy.
Disclaimer done: now the interesting bit. Nine Lives Cooking School claims that "there are foods that have been shown to decrease the growth of breast cancer cells." Again, as I haven't seen the research to support this, and have seen research to refute this, I won't endorse their statement until further research proves it. But, I will support their attempt at educating people on proper nutrition.
The Nine Lives Cooking School is part of the New Life After Cancer non-profit, based in Chapel Hill/Hillsborough, North Carolina.
They offer 4 week courses, meeting on Fridays, to teach breast cancer survivors better cooking. Courses cost $40, or you can do a one-off course for $20. One's currently underway, and they haven't posted when their next one will start, but if you click on their website you can contact them and find out.
